CRP and rheumatoid arthritis: The main findings from our study in a large cohort of 307 patients diagnosed with S are as follows: (A) increasing age, crea, CRP, preexisting RA and MSSA as causative pathogen were identified as independent predictors associated with in-hospital all-cause mortality; (B) a risk score using readily available individual and clinical characteristics showed a good predictive value with an AUC of 0.795, classifying patients in low, medium, high or very high risk groups for in-hospital mortality.
