Indeed, the inhibition of a given metabolic pathway (i.e., glycolysis) may in theory have different effects on myeloid cells depending on the type of cancer (e.g., in lung cancer, glycolysis promotes M2-like TAM polarization mediated by HIF1α, while in breast cancer, it promotes M2-like TAM polarization through activation by lactates).
