A study conducted by Nashed et al. [56] demonstrated that inhibition of SCD1 in NSCLC cancer cells negatively affected the phosphorylation of EGFR upon ligand binding, leading to the inactivation of ERK, AKT, and mTOR signaling cascades, thus, causing a defective mitogenic response to EGF. Here, EGF is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
