Pirfenidone, an anti-IPF agent, inhibits the proliferation of primary human intestinal fibroblasts and the production of TGF-β1-induced type I collagen mainly by inhibiting TGF-β1-mediated phosphorylation in the TGF-β1/mTOR/p70S6K signalling pathway [35].
