Additional investigations are required to understand other drivers of ovarian cancer McTN formation beyond physical properties of the cell surface, including cell cycle kinetics; centrosome amplification, which has been associated with increased tumor grade, size, metastasis, and recurrence [39]; and stemness, as CD44 knockdown in glioblastoma cells has been shown to decrease McTN production [37]. This evidence concerns the gene CD44 and ovarian cancer.
