Duijvesz et al. identified four proteins (i.e., PDCD6IP, FASN, XPO1, and ENO1) as candidate biomarkers for prostate cancer and showed that they are significantly abundant in exosomes released from human prostate cancer cell lines (PC346C and VCaP cells), compared to exosomes released from prostate epithelial cells (PNT2C2 and RWPE-1 cells) [100]. This evidence concerns the gene XPO1 and prostate cancer.
