The molecular patterns detected in the development of head and neck cancers, including laryngeal cancer, include molecules such as epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) [2,3,4] telomerase activity [5], overexpression and amplification of cyclin D1 genes (CCND1) [6], cathepsin D [7], type II estrogen binding sites (EBS) [8], S100-A2 Ca2+ binding proteins [9], type 2 cyclo-oxygenase (Cox-2) [10,11], and galectin-3 [12,13]. Here, CCND1 is linked to head and neck cancer.
