In a previous study, we have already discovered that the genetic variability of the FNTB gene locus, encoding the catalytically active β-subunit of farnesyltransferase, is linked to transcriptional regulation of the farnesyltransferase β-subunit and could predict the response to the FTI lonafarnib in ovarian cancer patients in the multi-centre AGO-OVAR-15 Phase II trial [19].
