This result was derived from a retrospective analysis of a comprehensive cohort of 797 patients with early, i.e., non-metastasized, breast cancer from the multicentre prospective PiA cohort (NCT 01592825), in which we have previously defined the clinical relevance of caspase 8 polymorphisms and their association with tumour infiltrating lymphocytes [28]. This evidence concerns the gene CASP8 and neoplasm.
