MGMT promoter methylation is more common in IDH1/2-mutant glioblastoma and is associated with a better prognosis in patients receiving temozolomide.10 Glioblastoma has been shown to have a highly heterogeneous genetic profile beyond the IDH1/2 mutation and MGMT promoter methylation, but with few exceptions, surprisingly little is known about the prognosis of patients with tumors harboring other genetic mutations. The gene discussed is MGMT; the disease is glioblastoma.
