ALOX5 and asthma: Meanwhile, we found a downregulated expression of antioxidant proteins (SLC7A11, SLC3A2, and GPX-4) and an upregulated expression of ALOX5, which was related to lipid peroxides-induced ferroptosis, in the lung tissues of asthma mice; however, the expression of these antioxidant proteins was enhanced, while the levels of ALOX5 were suppressed after the treatment of Ferr-1 and 3-MA (Figure 5(d)).
