Moreover, loss of miR-1258 led to the initiation and development of liver cancer by targeting CKS1B (Hu et al., 2016); while overexpression of miR-1258 inhibited the growth, proliferation and tumorigenicity of liver cancer cells by increasing G0/G1 cell cycle arrest and promoting cell apoptosis (Hu et al., 2016); and miR-1258 exerted anti-cancer function by targeting TMPRSS4 in thyroid cancer (Wang and Cai 2020).
