CD4 and infection: After 60 days of infection, both the total numbers of CD3+PD-1+, CD4+PD-1+, and CD8+PD-1+ T cells were decreased in the alphatoc/infected compared to the veh/infected mice (Figures 4A, B), thus denoting that alphatoc may prevent T cell disfunction/anergy during the acute T. cruzi infection.
