IL4R and infection: Altogether, our findings provide supporting evidence that the absence of IL-4-mediated DC instruction does induce higher levels of IL-4 and IL-13 by CD4+ and CD8+ T cells and that infection control in this L. mexicana setting is dependent on IFN-γ production by T cells which counteracts IL-4 and IL-13 for the survival of the parasites, as observed in the IL-4Rα-/- mice.
