Osteolytic lesions and tumor incidence were significantly lower in the tibia of FoxA2-suppressed mice compared with the control group (Connelly et al., 2020), which may be related to decreased expression of parathyroid hormone-related protein, a major factor mediating cancer-induced osteoclast production (Martin and Johnson, 2019), encoded by the PTHLH gene (Connelly et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene PTHLH and cancer.
