In ovariectomized (OVX) mice, knockdown of FoxF1 with siRNA significantly reduced OVX-induced bone loss by enhancing bone formation, suggesting that FoxF1 may be a marker factor for bone formation and a therapeutic target for postmenopausal osteoporosis (Shen et al., 2020). The gene discussed is FOXF1; the disease is postmenopausal osteoporosis.
