Previously, we have shown that blast-induced mild TBI (mbTBI)-induced neuroendocrine deficits and anxiety-like behaviors across both male and female mice include dysregulation of CRF pathways in the HPA axis (neuroendocrine-projecting PVN CRF neurons) but also in extrahypothalamic regions (non-neuroendocrine-projecting PVN CRF projections; Russell et al., 2018a, b).
