Overall, our data suggest that mbTBI has differential effects on distinct neuroanatomical CRF pathways where it induces persistent GABAergic synaptic dysfunction in dPVN CRF neurons to promote dPVN CRF hyperactivity thereby selectively increasing hypothalamic as well as extrahypothalamic CRF signaling and promoting anxiety-like behaviors. The gene discussed is CRH; the disease is Anxiety.
