In patients with multiple sclerosis, Curcumin adds to efficacy of IFN-β on radiological signs of inflammation [15].Curcumin was proved to synergistically cooperate with IFN-β to inhibit migration and induce apoptosis of MCF-7 human breast cancer cells by up-regulation of genes associated with retinoid-IFN-induced mortality 19 (GRIM19) through signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) 3-dependent and STAT3-independent pathways [16]. This evidence concerns the gene IFNB1 and multiple sclerosis.
