Out of 27 genes, a statistically significant correlation between DNA methylation status and prognosis was proved for six of them: CEBPA, PBX3, LZTS2, NR6A1, GPX3, and DLX4. We propose that further independent validation studies may build upon our results, because only markers properly verified by several independent studies can be considered for AML prognosis refinement in clinical practice. This evidence concerns the gene LZTS2 and acute myeloid leukemia.
