Interestingly, CCR1 variants are linked to pulmonary macrophage infiltration in severe COVID‐19 [53] and inhibition of CCR5 in critical COVID‐19 patients has been associated with a decrease in plasma IL‐6 and SARS‐CoV‐2 RNA and an increase in CD8 + T cells [54]. Here, CCR5 is linked to COVID-19.
