Although it has been suggested that neuroblastoma cell lines sequester p53 in the cytoplasm as an explanation of apparent p53 defects in p53-wildtype neuroblastomas [26, 27], we found no such cytoplasmic enrichment, with p53 enriched in the nucleus in all but the SK-N-AS, where the p53 was evenly distributed between the nuclear and cytoplasmic fractions. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is neuroblastoma.
