Th 17 cell produces IL-17 also termed as IL-17A, a proinflammatory cytokine, which has been proved in multiple evidences from many animal models and patients with pSS that IL-17 is intimately relevant to the pathogenesis of pSS and is critical for induction and persistence of chronic inflammation [22, 43, 44]. This evidence concerns the gene IL17A and peeling skin syndrome.
