It should be also noted that the SHBG cutoff point estimated empirically in our study is an intermediate value between the cutoff point for SHBG levels associated with the risk of fatty liver in PCOS women (below 30 nmol/L) [12] and associated with the increased risk of type 2 diabetes development (below 50 mmol/L) [19].
