Whereas the number of CD3+ T cells is equal among vascular manifestations of Q fever and atherosclerotic AAA samples, samples from patients with vascular manifestations of Q fever exhibited larger numbers of CD3+CD8+ cytotoxic T cells (p=0.000), coinciding with a decrease of CD3+CD8− helper T cells (p=0.000) and CD3+CD45RO+ memory T cells (p=0.023)(Figure 7G). This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and triple-A syndrome.
