It is known that carriers of BRCA1 PVs tend to develop ER-/PR-/HER2-, i.e. triple negative breast cancers (TNBC) [4], while carriers of BRCA2 PVs tend to develop ER + /PR + breast cancers, similar to sporadic forms lacking germline predispositions. The gene discussed is ESR1; the disease is triple-negative breast carcinoma.
