To determine which step or steps of glycolysis are stimulated in response to acute PO, we harvested hearts 2 days after TAC, when the left ventricular (LV) wall stress marker Nppb was increased (Supplemental Figure 1A; supplemental material available online with this article; https://doi.org/10.1172/JCI150595DS1) and YAP signaling was activated (Supplemental Figure 1, B–D, G–I, and Q), but neither control nor YAPch-KO mice developed signs of cardiac hypertrophy or heart failure (Supplemental Figure 1, E and F). Here, NPPB is linked to cardiac hypertrophy.
