In a randomized controlled study that compared blonanserin with risperidone in adult schizophrenia (Miura 2008), the incidence of akathisia and excitability was higher with blonanserin than with risperidone, whereas the incidence of prolactin increase, weight increase, and orthostatic hypotension was lower with blonanserin than with risperidone. This evidence concerns the gene PRL and orthostatic hypotension.
