Interestingly, proteins belonging to other pathways, for example, antigen presentation by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I or proteolysis, seemed to be less abundantly represented under viral infection in the IFNα5-treated samples, a phenomenon which was not as prominent after treatment with IFNλ3 (Fig. 3E and SI Appendix, Fig. S7D).
