In our previous work, the expression levels of nucleolin (NCL) in cervical cancer cells were shown to be downregulated after treatment with phycocyanin as shown by two‐dimensional gel electrophoresis (2DE) and mass spectrometry (MALDI‐TOF/MS), suggesting that NCL plays an important role in the development, cell proliferation, and apoptosis pathways. This evidence concerns the gene NUCLEOLIN and cervical carcinoma.
