Reductions in sialylation of N‐ and O‐linked glycans were reported in PLA2G6‐associated neurodegeneration, which may manifest as early‐onset PD, although this was found to be due to disruption in Golgi morphology causing a global reduction in O‐linked glycans, not due to a decrease in the process of sialylation.40 The gene discussed is PLA2G6; the disease is Parkinson disease.
