To assess the EGLN3 hydroxylase activity in KI mice, we analyzed the expression of proteins that were reportedly hydroxylated and destabilized/stabilized by EGLN3, particularly those that play instrumental roles in cancers, such as Erk3, p53 and hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) 1α [7, 20, 27]. The gene discussed is MAPK6; the disease is cancer.
