CXCL8 and neoplasm: Interestingly, a recent study demonstrated an association between high serum IL-8 concentrations, tumour-infiltrating neutrophils and reduced benefit from immune-checkpoint blockade in various solid tumours, suggesting that IL-8 blockade might serve as a valuable complement to immune-checkpoint inhibitors by targeting a potentially unfavourable, myeloid cell-infiltrated tumour microenvironment [53].
