RRAS2 and neoplasm: Considering that Rosa26-RRAS2xmb1-Cre and Rosa26-RRAS2xSox2-Cre mice develop CLL, that the MEC-1 human CLL cell line overexpresses RRAS2 and that these cells require RRAS2 expression for proliferation and tumor formation, we set out to assess RRAS2 mRNA levels in our own cohort of previously untreated CLL patients to reinforce the metadata (Fig. 1c and S1a) and further analyze the relationship between RRAS2 overexpression and human CLL.
