The meta‐analysis by Kaptoge et al20 found a significant 17% increase (risk ratio (RR) 1.17 [1.09‐1.25]) and 25% increase (RR 1.25 [1.19‐1.32]) in incident coronary heart disease (CHD)/nonfatal MI associated with a 1 SD increase in TNF‐α and IL‐6, respectively.
