Aspirin may prevent or treat ARDS by reducing the activation and recruitment of neutrophils to the lung, the expression of TNF-α in pulmonary vascular macrophages, the plasma thromboxane B2 level, and the sequestration of platelets in the lung (Chen et al., 2003; Looney et al., 2009; Eickmeier et al., 2013; Tuinman et al., 2013; Huang et al., 2019).
