In February 2021, Evinacumab, a monoclonal antibody against ANGPTL3 (Fig. 1) was approved by the FDA for the treatment of homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH) as an adjunct to existing LDL cholesterol-lowering therapies. This evidence concerns the gene ANGPTL3 and homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia.
