In the LBC, the PSD3 rs71519934 minor allele (186T) was associated with lower prevalence of liver steatosis (P = 5.9 × 10−6), fibrosis (P = 0.006), inflammation (P = 9.9 × 10−7) and ballooning (P = 0.002) (Table 2) using binary logistic regression analysis under an additive genetic model adjusted for age, gender, body mass index (BMI), centre of recruitment and the PNPLA3 rs738409. Here, PSD3 is linked to fatty liver disease.
