The spread of tau pathology in tauopathies, specifically AD, has been grouped into six stages: Braak Stage I/II, tau is found in the locus coeruleus and transentorhinal/entorhinal regions; Braak Stage III/IV, tau spreads into the hippocampus and medial temporal lobe; Braak Stage V/VI, tau infiltrates the neocortex [12, 13].
