Previous studies have shown that the E-cadherin/β-catenin complex plays a critical role in the proliferation and differentiation of multiple malignancies, including colon carcinoma (Pálmer et al. 2001), breast cancer (Rosso et al. 2014), prostate cancer (Zheng et al. 2017), and thyroid cancer (Cho et al. 2014). This evidence concerns the gene CDH1 and breast cancer.
