The effect of C10orf107 in cancer was poorly understood, and only a rare translocation t(3; 10) (q26; q21) was observed in an acute myeloid leukemia patient, presented as a fusion of MECOM (chromosome 3q26.2) and C10orf107 (chromosome 10q21.2) [32]. This evidence concerns the gene MECOM and acute myeloid leukemia.
