In triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), expression of the estrogen and progesterone receptors, as well as human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) is missing, making it unsusceptible to the targeted treatment and thus resulting in a drastically poor prognosis and a strong risk of relapse in the first 5 years following surgery (Lee et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and triple-negative breast carcinoma.
