Our previous clinical studies have demonstrated that Stem Cell Educator therapy utilizing cord blood-derived stem cells (CB-SC) can increase Th2-related cytokines (IL-4 and IL-12), decrease the level of Th17-associated cytokine (IL-17) (55), and reduce the percentages of CD4+ and CD8+ effector memory T cells (TEM) in T1D patients (56).
