Kaempferol treatment increases membrane-bound FAS ligand levels, decreases intact caspase-8 and Bid, and increases cleavage of caspase-8 in human colon cancer cells indicating that kaempferol-induced apoptosis is associated with the activation of cell surface death receptors and the mitochondrial pathway (Lee et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene CASP8 and malignant colon neoplasm.
