BALF IL-8 concentrations have been significantly associated with mortality in sepsis, pneumonia, aspiration lung injury, transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI) of blood products, trauma related and non-specific ARDS (Kiehl et al., 1998; Kurdowska et al., 2001; Parsons et al., 2005; McClintock et al., 2008; Agrawal et al., 2012; Cartin-Ceba et al., 2015; Bime et al., 2019). Here, CXCL8 is linked to susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
