CRP and depressive disorder: Overactivation of inflammatory responses and increased levels of inflammatory mediators like interleukin (IL)−1β, IL‐6, tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF‐α), the acute phase reactant (CRP), and high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) were seen in both patients and rodents with depressive disorder (Cernackova et al., 2020; Liu et al., 2019; Xie et al., 2021; Zolfaghari et al., 2021).
