To evaluate the relevance of our findings in breast cancer diagnosis, we evaluated the prognostic value of S100P and S100A7 in a microarray data set of breast tumors from 1809 patients.28 Kaplan–Meier curves of relapse-free survival times of breast cancer patients with lymph node positive status (n = 936), stratified by S100P (Fig. 6a) and S100A7 (Fig. 6b) expression levels, showed patients with higher expression levels (red lines) have reduced survival times compared to patients presenting with lower expression (black lines). This evidence concerns the gene S100A7 and breast cancer.
