Membrane glycoprotein (M), the most abundant protein in coronaviruses,109 is the main component of the viral envelope and maintains the virion’s size and shape.110 Moreover, M protein is involved in the processing, modification, and trafficking of multiple viral proteins,111 as well as the assembly and release of virus particles.112 M protein also interferes with the host immune response through interferon antagonism.113 Therefore, it is a promising target for the treatment of COVID-19. Here, MYOM2 is linked to COVID-19.
