CSE1L and malaria: Malaria Parasite Metabolic Pathway (MPMP) and functional family analyses of heterochromatic target genes revealed that PfAP2-EXP2 might participate in regulating multiple crucial pathways for parasite growth and development, such as HP1 enrichment values, structure of telomere and sub-telomeric regions, rosette formation between normal and infected RBCs, interactions between modified host cell membrane and endothelial cell, and candidate genes related to virulence (Figure 3E; Supplementary Table S3).
