The p-Akt and PI3K levels were significantly (positively) correlated in nasal polyps (r = 0.755, P < 0.001), as were those of HIF-1α and p-Akt (r = 0.408, P < 0.001) and HIF-1α and PI3K (r = 0.386, P < 0.001), and the level of mRNA encoding HIF-1α and those encoding p-Akt (r = 0.397, P < 0.001), PI3K (r = 0.438, P < 0.001), and HIF-1α (r = 0.415, P < 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and nasal cavity polyp.
