We believe that in order to prevent and control progression of inflammation and tissue destruction as some kind of compensatory mechanism, immunosuppressive Gal-1 and consequently produced IL-10 increased in parallel with the increment of levels of proinflammatory cytokines, and moreover the relation of Gal-1 and proinflammatory cytokines didn’t change during COVID-19 progression (Figs. 1, 2). Here, IL10 is linked to COVID-19.
