Therefore, the 8-wpi data were intentionally excluded from the correlation analysis, and we found that AST, ALT, and ALB did have a significant linear correlation with liver lesions within 1–7 wpi (p < 0.05; Figure 7), which again confirmed that AST, ALT, and ALB are reliable and convincing biochemical markers for evaluating the degree of liver injury and the prognosis of hosts from fasciolosis (Edith et al., 2010; El-Boshy et al., 2015), contrary to other indicators. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and fascioliasis.
