Herein, we performed a bioinformatic analysis of E2F by using multiple public datasets about gene expression profiles in patients with CRC, finding the significant downregulation of E2F2 in the cancer tissues of CRC patients, which was further experimentally confirmed in vivo with the CRC tumor tissues and normal mucosa tissue controls by using multiple assays including immunohistochemical staining, qRT-PCR and western blot. Here, E2F2 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
